Client: Woody Creek Distillers
Craft Distilling
at 6600 Feet.
A small, independent distillery a short drive up the road from Aspen, is making exceptional vodka among other fine spirits. Using their own farmed potatoes and locally grown ingredients, Woody Creek is all about doing things right. At altitude, water boils at a lower temperature. And with their beautiful Karl still, they can make vodka to proof in a single pass. That delivers very subtle sweet notes of the potatoes, where multiple passes would deny any of this. The new identity, custom bottles and closure are inspired by their still. We used a threaded screw closure because higher altitude air pressure will pop a cork top.
